Guerra de subversão – comparação entre a guerra colonial e a guerra no Afeganistão

O presente trabalho desenvolve-se em torno do fenómeno político que é a subversão, ao seu estudo aplicado no conflito da guerra colonial portuguesa de 1961-1974 e no conflito que se iniciou no Afeganistão em 2001 depois da operação “Enduring Freedom”. O trabalho centra-se sobretudo na pesquisa documental, com o intuito de analisar numa primeira fase o fenómeno subversivo; numa segunda fase a sua antítese que é a contra subversão; na terceira fase é composta por uma análise da guerra colonial portuguesa de 1961 a 1974, e por fim numa última fase estuda o actual conflito no Afeganistão, culminando com uma análise comparativa entre ambos os teatros de operações. O trabalho orienta-se de forma a comparar estes dois conflitos. Procura compreender quais são os pontos de semelhança entre o fenómeno subversivo de entre 1961 a 1974, para a actualidade. Chegou-se à conclusão que o fenómeno subversivo apresenta algumas diferenças ligeiras. Não obstante, ainda existem muitas semelhanças, e inseridas nestas semelhanças encontram-se alguns dos factores mais importantes nos quais se desenrola a manobra subversiva, são eles o controlo da população e a existência de apoio externos. Propõe-se a reformulação dos cinco manuais elaborados pelo exército português intitulados de “O Exército na Guerra Subversiva”, de forma a conseguirem responder aos desafios de uma nova realidade internacional.

Abstract The present work develops around the political phenomenon that is the insurgency, its study applied to the conflict of the Portuguese colonial war from 1961 to 1974 and the conflict that started in Afghanistan in 2001 after the operation “Enduring Freedom”. The work is focused mainly in the documental research, with the intention of analyzing, in a first stage the insurgency phenomenon; on a second stage its contraposition that is the counterinsurgency; the third stage is composed by an analysis of the Portuguese colonial war from 1961 to 1974; culminating with a comparative analysis between both Operational Theaters. The work is oriented in a way that compares both conflicts. It pursuits to understand what are the points of resemblance between de insurgency from 1961 to 1974 to the present. It came to the conclusion that the insurgent phenomenon presents some slight differences. Despite that, there still are many resemblances, and inserted in theseresemblances are some of the factors that are the most important in which the insurgent maneuver is developed, they are the population and the external support. It proposes to reformulate the five manuals elaborated by the Portuguese army entitled “The army in the insurgency war”, in a way that they could answer the challenges of a new international reality
