Os Radares de Artilharia de Campanha Inseridos no ISTAR: Implicações para o Grupo de Artilharia de Campanha

O presente Trabalho de Investigação Aplicada alude ao modo de emprego dos Radares de Localização de Armas afetos ao Batalhão ISTAR e a disseminação das informações sobre objetivos para o Sistema de Apoio de Fogos, cujo principal objetivo é analisar a forma e estrutura que o Grupo de Artilharia de Campanha de uma Brigada deve adotar quando a mesma é apoiada pelo Batalhão ISTAR das Forças de Apoio Geral. No que diz respeito ao conceito de ISTAR, cuja siglas traduzidas significam Informações, Vigilância, Aquisição de Objetivos e Reconhecimento, este representa um sistema de informações que faz a coordenação de sensores e outros meios que prestam apoio às operações correntes e futuras. Na elaboração do presente trabalho foi utilizado o método indutivo como método científico onde, através da seleção da bibliografia mais relevante, foi possível dar resposta às várias questões derivadas colocadas inicialmente, cuja análise posterior permitiu responder à questão de partida, “que alterações estruturais deve o Grupo de Artilharia de Campanha observar, quando a Brigada a que pertence é apoiada pelo Batalhão ISTAR, de forma a garantir um ataque oportuno aos objetivos”. A partir da bibliografia pesquisada foi possível observar que não são necessárias alterações estruturais significativas no Grupo de Artilharia de Campanha quando apoiado pelo Batalhão ISTAR, sendo que neste caso se verifica inclusive uma diminuição da capacidade de resposta do Sistema de Apoio de Fogos em questões de Contrabateria. De salientar que em Portugal, especificamente no Regimento de Artilharia Nº4 em Leiria, estão a ser desenvolvidos trabalhos no sentido de aumentar as capacidades do Sistema Automático de Comando e Controlo que pode vir a ser uma medida a implementar por forma a que o Grupo de Artilharia de Campanha mantenha o controlo dos seus meios de Aquisição de Objetivos quando apoiado pelo Batalhão ISTAR.

Abstract This Applied Research Work alludes to the employment of the weapons location radar relative to the ISTAR Battalion and the dissemination of information regarding to the Fire Support System objectives, whose main objective is to analyze the structure that the Artillery Campaign Group of a Brigade should adopt when it is supported by ISTAR Battalion from the General Support Forces. Regarding to the concept of ISTAR, whose acronyms mean Information, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance, it represents an information system that makes the coordination of sensors and other means that provide support to future and ongoing operations. In the elaboration of this work it was used the inductive method as a scientific method where, through selection of the most relevant literature, it was possible to answer to the various derived questions originally raised, whose subsequent analysis allowed us to answer to the initial question, "what structural changes should the Field Artillery Battalion observed when the brigade to which it belongs is supported by the ISTAR Battalion, to ensure a timely attack on objectives". From the literature surveyed it was possible to observe that there aren’t any significant structural changes required in the Field Artillery Battalion when supported by the ISTAR Battalion. In this case we can verify an decrease in the response capability of the Fire Support System on the matters of counterfire. In Portugal, specifically in the 4 th Artillery Regiment in Leiria, works are being develop on the way to increase the capabilities of the Command and Control Automated System that can prove to be a measure to implement so that the Field Artillery Battalion may keep the control of their means of target acquisition when supported by ISTAR Battalion.
