A liderança assume no presente uma importância cada vez maior, sendo essencial em qualquer instituição. Como não poderia deixar de ser, a liderança é extremamente importante na instituição militar e mais ainda nas tropas especiais pela tipologia de missões atribuídas. Surge então o presente trabalho de investigação subordinado ao tema: “Estilos de liderança para a gestão de stress e conflito nas tropas especiais: estudo de caso no CTOE”. Estabeleceu-se como objetivo geral deste trabalho identificar comportamentos de liderança na resolução de problemas, do qual resultaram os seguintes objetivos específicos: identificar os estilos de liderança utilizados pelos Oficiais do Centro de Tropas de Operações Especiais na resolução de conflitos; determinar os comportamentos dos oficiais do Centro de Tropas de Operações Especiais em situações de eventual stress e identificar os comportamentos de liderança que aumentam os níveis de satisfação dos subordinados. Articulou-se este trabalho em duas fases distintas, uma teórica e uma prática. Na teórica realizou-se uma revisão da literatura necessária para o enquadramento relativo à realidade do estudo. A fase prática, teve por base a recolha de dados, através de inquéritos e entrevistas, das quais resultaram uma análise de dados que contribuíram para as respostas às perguntas/hipóteses de investigação, assim como algumas reflexões. Conclui-se com este trabalho que o stress e o conflito nos militares do Centro de Tropas de Operações Especiais, não resulta apenas da vida militar. A proximidade é essencial nesta Força de Operações Especiais, por forma a identificar este tipo de situações o mais breve possível. Os Oficiais adaptam os seus comportamentos de liderança a cada caso, usualmente utilizando uma liderança transformacional, mantendo os níveis de satisfação dos subordinados elevados. Para estes níveis de satisfação contribui uma boa gestão de tarefas.

Abstract The leadership assumes increasing importance, is essential in any institution. How could it be, leadership is extremely important for military and even more for special troops because the type of tasks assigned. Then comes this work of research on the theme: "Leadership Styles for managing stress and conflict in the special troops: a case study in CTOE". It was established as a general objective of this work to identify leadership behaviors in problem solving, which resulted in the following specific objectives: identify the leadership styles used by the Official Center Special Troops in conflict resolution; determine the behavior of the officers of the Center for Special Troops in situations of stress and identify possible leadership behaviors that increase the levels of satisfaction of subordinates. This work is divided in two distinct parts, one theoretical and one practical. In theoretical there was a need to review the framework for the reality of the literature study. The practice phase was based on the collection of data through surveys and interviews, which resulted in an analysis of data that contributed to the answers to questions / hypotheses for research, along with some thoughts. The conclusion of this study that stress and conflict in the military at the Center for Special Troops, not simply a consequence of military life. Proximity is essential in this Special Operations Force, in order to identify such situations as soon as possible. Officers adapt their leadership behaviors in each case, usually using a transformational leadership, maintaining high levels of satisfaction among subordinates. For these levels of satisfaction contributes a good task management.
