Description
In the last decades, education policies tending to Inclusion have been developed. Considering the prime of the inclusive education, any teacher could have in his classroom a child with autism, with social interaction difficulties with his peers, with specific behaviours and interests, as well as communication difficulties. This is on this issue that the study focuses, with the proposal of the elaboration of a project entitled ―Growing step by step‖ with a general objective – Promoting the Social and Individual Development of Children with Autism in basic education in regular education. For this project, some search tools as observation grids, pupil with autism and the other classmates‘ behaviours register grids and a sociometric test to be given to the pupil with autism. Furthermore, pupils with autism, their parents and school mates will be given questionnaires in order to identify the knowledge they have about the issue. A teaching programme will also be planned in order to raise awareness of the pupil‘s school mates to volunteering. Further on, there will be the project in which the pupil‘s peers without disabilities will be able to interact, as volunteers, with the pupil with autism, in an organized and structured classroom, according to the Treatment and Education for Autistic and children with deficits related to Communication (TEACCH) method, within the supervision of a teacher. With this project, we intended the creation of new forms of intervention to improve pupils with autism quality of life, preparing them better for their active life.
