Os Novos Dispositivos tecnológicos e de software atravessam atualmente todos os níveis da vida quotidiana dos adolescentes. Portanto, torna-se pertinente compreender o que é que os adolescentes estão a fazer quando não estão online e se, de algum modo, as formas de relação online influenciam o seu modo de estar offline. Esta investigação tem como objetivo compreender de que forma os novos dispositivos tecnológicos e software se relacionam com o comportamento dos adolescentes offline. É apoiada numa estratégia qualitativa de carácter exploratório. A unidade de análise são adolescentes com idades compreendidas entre os 13-19 anos de idade e a técnica de recolha de dados efetuou-se através de entrevistas semiestruturadas em duas escolas na cidade de Portalegre, que possuíam ou tinham acesso a qualquer um dos novos dispositivos tecnológicos e de software. A partir da análise e discussão de resultados, reflete-se sobre o que os jovens fazem online e offline, bem como quais as implicações dos novos dispositivos tecnológicos e de software na forma de se relacionam e comunicam; Meetings and Disencounters: the teenagers' offline life Abstract: The New Technology and Software Devices currently cross all levels of adolescent’s daily life. If one currently lives in a society in which technologies and software predominate, it becomes pertinent to understand what adolescents are doing when they are not online and if in some way the forms of online relation influence their mode to be offline. The purpose of this research is understand how the new technological and software devices influence the adolescent’s offline life. It’s supported by a qualitative exploratory strategy, the technique of selection of individuals is snowball. The data collection technique was performed through a semi-structured interview and the unit of analysis are adolescents aged 13-19 years old, in two schools in the Portalegre city, who had or had access to any of the new technological and software devices. From the analysis and discussion of results, it reflects on what young people do online and offline, as well as the implications of the new technological devices and software in the way they relate and communicate.
