O presente trabalho intitula-se Educação (in) visual, uma vez que se pretende promover no cego competências comunicativas e expressivas no âmbito da disciplina de Educação Visual e Tecnológica, autonomizando-o na descoberta do meio envolvente, como ainda na fruição e criação plástica, através do uso de materiais motivantes, acessíveis e económicos. Foi assim adaptado o currículo desta disciplina ajudando o aluno cego, no sexto ano de escolaridade, a explorar características materiais e geométricas de objectos, motivando a partilha de actividades com seus pares normovisuais, no contexto da sala de aula. Os conteúdos curriculares escolhidos focalizam aprendizagens úteis, desde a análise formal de objectos, à sua representação através de figuras planas, e seu desenho pelas suas linhas de contorno, a análise dos significados de objectos de artesanato e do contexto artístico, a criação de mensagens visuais variando as posições de associação entre formas conjugadas também a símbolos de códigos visuais comuns. Destaca-se a didáctica específica, utilizada na aprendizagem do desenho, como meio de desenvolvimento cognitivo, de aquisição de estratégias de exploração táctil, da estruturação e memória espacial, que são factores determinantes na construção de representações mentais. Os indicadores e dimensões utilizados nesta investigação contribuem na aplicação do currículo disciplinar, assentando em marcos teóricos fundamentados, nas áreas Sensorio-motora, Perceptiva, Lógico Operatória, e a das Manifestações Simbólicas, permitindo a avaliação compreensiva do aluno realizada pela observação participante. Pretende-se fazer acreditar ao aluno cego, seus pais e professores, da possibilidade de acompanhar melhor a sociedade contemporânea, utilizando a linguagem visual, para descobrir, reflectir, conhecer, registar, expressar e recriar o mundo, à semelhança do que fazem os normovisuais.

The present study is called un(visual) Education, because it is intended to forster in the blind communicative as well as informative skills in the field of the discipline of Visual and Technological Education, in order to bring about a certain amount of autonomy in the discovery of the environment, and also in the plastic fruition and creativeness, through the employment of motivating, accessible and economic materials. The curriculum of the discipline has thus been adapted, aiming to help the blind student, in his sixth year of studies, to explore the material and geometric characteristics of the objects, and, on the other hand, motivating the sharing of the classroom activities with his visually normal pairs. We chose those curricular items which could lead to useful learning, as, for instance, the formal analysis of objects, their representation by means of plane figures, their drawing trough the contour lines, the analysis of the meaning of several objects of artisan and artistic production, the creation of visual images with different associative positions regarding their conjugated forms and symbols of common visual codes We want to emphasize the specific didactics used in the learning of drawing, as means of cognitive development, of acquisition of strategies of tactile exploitation, of tactile structure and spatial memory, which are determinant factors in the building of mental representations The indicators and dimensions used in this investigation contribute to the application of the curriculum, and are are based on well-founded theoretical marks, in the sensorium motor, perceptive, logic-operating, and symbolic manifestation areas, allowing the comprehensive valuation of the student through the participant observation We intend to make the blind student, as well as his parents and his teachers, believe that he can accompany the contemporary society in a better way if he uses the visual language to discover, reflect, know, register, express and reflect the outside world, in the same way as the people who can see.
