Relatório de estágio apresentado à Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco para cumprimento dos requisitos necessários à obtenção do grau de Mestre em Educação Pré-Escolar e Ensino do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico.
O presente Relatório de Estágio encontra-se organizado em duas grandes partes. Numa primeira parte apresenta-se, ainda que resumidamente, todo o trabalho exigido pela própria prática supervisionada: a caracterização do contexto educativo, as planificações semanais e as respetivas reflexões, bem como uma breve referência à prática supervisionada realizada na Educação Pré-Escolar com crianças de cinco/seis anos. Já a segunda parte, e reconhecida a importância do desenvolvimento de atividades em contextos não formais de educação na promoção de aprendizagens de âmbito curricular, é dedicada inteiramente ao nosso projeto de investigação, integrado no âmbito da própria prática supervisionada, e cujos objetivos passaram por: (i) conhecer as potencialidades do Horto de Amato Lusitano para o ensino da Matemática e das Ciências no 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, tendo como ponto de partida as diferentes espécies de plantas aí existentes; (ii) construir e avaliar atividades e recursos didáticos para a educação não formal no Horto de Amato Lusitano que articulem conteúdos e objetivos da área da Matemática e das Ciências; (iii) analisar em que medida a realização de atividades no Horto de Amato Lusitano e em sala de aula contribui para a aprendizagem da Matemática e das Ciências de alunos do 2.º ano do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, ao nível de conhecimentos, capacidades e atitudes. A concretização desta investigação e a análise dos resultados tornou mais do que evidente a pertinência da utilização dos espaços não formais de educação na promoção de experiências educativas enriquecedoras, significativas, desafiadoras, e verdadeiramente integradas, nomeadamente no âmbito da Matemática e das Ciências.
This work placement report should be seen as a reflection of the entire educational activity developed in the course of supervised practice, a practice that was developed in the first semester of the second year of the Master Degree in Preschool Education and Teaching 1st Cycle of Basic Education, developed within the 2nd year class of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education. This work placement report is organized into two major parts. The first part shows, although briefly, all the work required by the supervised practice on its own: characterizing the educational context, the weekly lesson plans and their associated reflections as well as a brief reference to supervised practice performed in Preschool Education with five/six years old children. The second part, and recognizing the importance of developing activities on a non-formal educational context in order to promote learning within the curricular program, is dedicated entirely to our research project, integrated into the framework of the supervised practice, and which goals were: (i) meeting the potential of the Horto de Amato Lusitano for teaching mathematics and science for the 1st Cycle of Basic Education, taking as its starting point the different species of plants existing there, (ii) construct and evaluate activities and didactic resources for teaching non-formal education in the Horto de Amato Lusitano that will articulate contents as well as objectives on the subjects of mathematics and science, (iii) analyze to what extent the implementation of activities in the Horto de Amato Lusitano and in the classroom contributes to learning Mathematics and Sciences students 2nd year of 1st cycle of Basic Education, in terms of knowledge, skills and attitudes. Given the characteristics and objectives of this project, we entitled of "Aprender para além da escola ... à descoberta da Matemática e das Ciências nas plantas do Horto de Amato Lusitano!", we focused on a methodology of action research of a qualitative nature, focusing also on resorting to a multitude of techniques and instruments for gathering data (semi-structured interview with the cooperating teacher, observation, field notes, photographic record and graphic records produced by the students) that would allow us to effectively assess the contribution of the interaction between the two learning contexts in question: one formal (the classroom) and the other non formal (Horto de Amato Lusitano). The completion of the research and analysis of results made more than evident the applicability of the non-formal locations of education to promote enriching educational experiences, meaningful, challenging, and truly integrated, mainly on matters such as Mathematics and Science.
