A finalidade deste trabalho é de identificar as características dos planos de estudo adotados nas instituições do ensino superior de Fisioterapia em Angola compara-los entre si e relacionando-os com as normas de ensino da World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT). Este tem como base um estudo de revisão da literatura que se caracteriza por ser descritivo, exploratório e quantitativo. A revisão da literatura foi organizada tendo em conta a evolução do ensino da Fisioterapia em Angola e no mundo, tomando como princípios os referencias da WCPT e os seus objetivos, normas e recomendações para o ensino superior em Fisioterapia. A amostra é constituída por 6 Instituições de Ensino Superior de Angola, nas quais se realizou a recolha da informação relativamente as unidades curriculares que compõem os respetivos planos de estudo. A apresentação dos resultados foi dividida em três partes: aspetos legais e generalistas; unidades curriculares em termos de designação e carga horária de acordo por cada uma das dimensões. Conclui-se que a formação no que diz respeito ao Curso de Licenciatura em Fisioterapia em Angola ainda permanece no modelo biomédico e assistencial, valoriza as habilidades técnicas em embora já dá enfase á relação terapeuta-paciente e que da prioridade o tratamento e a reabilitação de doenças nos níveis secundários e terciários de saúde. É necessário, então, que as instituições de ensino superior de Fisioterapia repensem a formação dos seus profissionais, adequando a realidade do ensino dos mais elevados padrões internacionais, o que contribuirá para o desenvolvimento da saúde em geral em Angola e de prestação de cuidados de Fisioterapia em particular.
ABSTRACT - The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics of the curricula adopted in institutions of higher education in Physiotherapy in Angola, comparing them to each other and relating them to the teaching standards of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT). This is based on a review of the literature that is characterized by being descriptive, exploratory and quantitative. The review of the literature was organized taking into account the evolution of Physiotherapy teaching in Angola and in the world, based on the WCPT references and its objectives, norms and recommendations for higher education in Physiotherapy. The sample is made up of 6 Higher Education Institutions of Angola, in which the information was collected regarding the curricular units that make up the respective curricula. The presentation of the results was divided into three parts: legal and general aspects; curricular units in terms of designation and time load according to each of the dimensions. It is concluded that the training regarding the Licentiate Course in Physical Therapy in Angola still remains in the biomedical and care model, values the technical skills in spite of already emphasizes the therapist-patient relationship and that the priority is the treatment and rehabilitation of diseases At the secondary and tertiary levels of health. It is necessary, then, that the institutions of higher education in Physical Therapy rethink the training of their professionals, adjusting the reality of teaching of the highest international standards, which will contribute to the development of general health in Angola and the provision of physical therapy care in particular.
