O presente estudo de investigação foi realizado no âmbito da unidade curricular Prática de Ensino Supervisionada II (PES II), do mestrado em Educação Pré-escolar e Ensino do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, da Escola Superior de Educação de Viana do Castelo. Deste estudo resultou o presente relatório no qual está inserido todo o percurso que foi percorrido ao longo do ano letivo assim como uma reflexão acerca da Prática de Ensino Supervisionada no préescolar e no 1.º ciclo do ensino básico. Está também inserido o respetivo estudo intitulado: Na Pele dos Lobos: uma proposta didática de cariz transversal para o 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, mais direcionada para a subespécie do lobo cinzento – Canis lupus signatus - o lobo ibérico, uma vez que a intervenção educativa foi na região Norte do país, onde esta espécie está mais localizada. A escolha do tema para este estudo, centrado na área de Estudo do Meio, deve-se não só a motivações pessoais mas também pelo facto do tema “os seres vivos do ambiente próximo” fazer parte dos conteúdos curriculares do 3.º ano inserido no programa de estudo do meio do 1.º ciclo e ser uma área curricular pouco abordada na turma onde decorreu a intervenção. Segundo o Ministério da Educação (2004) “O professor deve fomentar nos alunos atitudes de respeito pela vida e pela Natureza, assim como sensibilizá-los para os aspetos estéticos do ambiente” (p. 115). Assim sendo considerou-se pertinente desenvolver um estudo com os seguintes objetivos específicos: (1) conhecer as conceções das crianças e familiares relativamente ao animal lobo e ao perigo da sua extinção de modo a (re)construir as suas ideias, (2) desenvolver atividades didáticas tendo como tema transversal – o lobo e (3) avaliar as aprendizagens das crianças decorrentes das atividades didáticas. Tendo em conta o problema e os objetivos do estudo, optou-se por uma metodologia de investigação qualitativa, alicerçada num paradigma interpretativo de caráter exploratório, com recolha de dados através de questionários, de documentos dos alunos, registos audiovisuais e da observação naturalista em que o investigador participa e interage com os participantes no estudo. Através dos resultados dos questionários foi possível aferir que as ideias iniciais sobre a espécie em estudo eram alternativas e com conotação negativa. Após a intervenção, estas conceções deram lugar a conhecimentos mais coerentes e aproximados dos aceites cientificamente. Este estudo, em que o lobo foi tomado como tema transversal para o ensino/aprendizagem de conteúdos das distintas áreas curriculares, reforça o potencial da transversalidade enquanto método adequado à organização do currículo em redor de competências multidisciplinares.
The present study was carried out under the scope of the Supervised Teaching Practice II (PES II, part of the Pre-school Education and Teaching Master’s Degree of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education. This study resulted in the present report, which includes all the way taken throughout the school year, as well as a reflection on the Supervised Teaching Practice in preschool and in the 1st cycle of Basic Education. It is also included the study titled In the wolves skin: a didactic proposal of a cross-sectional nature for the 1st Cycle of Basic Education, with a more forward-looking to the subspecies of the gray wolf - the Iberian wolf, as a result of the educational intervention in the North of Portugal, where this species is located on a bigger scale. The choice of this theme focused on the study of the environment, it was mainly chosen for personal motivation. On the other hand "living beings from the near environment" is one of the curricular contents inserted into the 3rd year of Basic Education which is currently in force within the environment study programme of the 1st cycle. It was also chosen for being a under-used curricular area in the group where the intervention took place. According to the Ministry of Education (2004) "The teacher should encourage students to be respectful to life and nature, as well as sensitize them to the aesthetic aspects of the environment" (115). Therefore, it was considered appropriate to develop a study with the following specific objectives: (1) to know the conceptions of children and relatives regarding the wolf and the danger of its extinction, in order to (re) construct its ideas, (2) develop didactic activities having as transversal theme - the wolf, and (3) to evaluate the learning of the children resulting from didactic activities. Given the problem and the objectives of the study, it was adopted a qualitative research methodology based on an exploratory paradigm of interpretation, with data collection through questionnaires, student records, audiovisual records and naturalistic observation in which the researcher participates and interacts with the study participants. Through the results of the questionnaires it was possible to verify that the initial ideas about the species under study were alternatives and with negative connotation. After the intervention, these concepts have given way to more coherent and approximate knowledge of the accepted scientifically. This study, in which the wolf was taken as a transversal theme for the teaching / learning of contents of the different curricular areas, enhance the potential of transversality as a suitable method for organizing the curriculum around multidisciplinary competences.
