O presente estudo resulta de uma parceria com uma IPSS que proporciona serviços destinados a crianças, e idosos, e que pretende expandir a sua acção social. Neste sentido, surge o projecto de construção das novas instalações que proporcionará à instituição novos desafios e oportunidades. Contudo, esta expansão exige um investimento de cerca de 1,7 milhões de euros e poderá representar um aumento do défice operacional actual da instituição. É perante a necessidade de se avaliar fontes de receitas extraordinárias que garantam a sua sustentabilidade financeira que se insere o presente estudo, nomeadamente, implementação de actividades lucrativas e reformulação do modelo de fundraising. A análise, estratégica e de viabilidade, das actividades lucrativas consideradas permitiu retirar as seguintes conclusões: • Lavandaria industrial – estando de acordo com a acção da instituição, os indicadores financeiros estimados demonstraram um VAL positivo em cerca de 488 mil euros; • Parafarmácia – esta enquadra-se na acção que a instituição tem com idosos e crianças, os indicadores financeiros estimados demonstraram a viabilidade da actividade através de um VAL positivo em cerca de 210 mil euros. • Parque de estacionamento pago – Perante os indicadores financeiros obtidos, com o VAL a ser negativo em cerca de 204 mil euros, concluiu-se que a sua dimensão não permite uma rentabilidade no curto / médio prazo. Por último, foi apresentada uma proposta de modelo de fundraising para potenciar mais parcerias, introduzindo novas acções, novos targets e procedimentos com vista a promover o crescimento das receitas desta actividade, e consequentemente, conseguir atingir a sustentabilidade financeira da instituição.
This study results from a partnership with a Social Institution that provides services for children and elderly, and intends to expand its social action. In this sense, appears the project for the construction of new facilities thatwill allow the institution to follow new challenges and opportunities. However, this expansion requires an investment of about 1.7 million Euros and could represent an increase of the current operating deficit of the institution. The present study arises to face the need to evaluate sources of extraordinary revenues that assure its financial sustainability, namely, implementation of new business activities and reformulation of the fundraising model. The strategic and feasibility analysis of the considered new business activities allowed the following conclusions: • Industrial laundry- this activity is consistent with the actions promoted by the institution, the estimated financial indicators show a positive net present value (NPV) of 488 000 Euros; • Pharmacies- this activity is consistent with the action that the institution has with elderly and children, the estimated financial indicators demonstrated the viability of the business through a positive NPV of approximately 210 000 Euros; • Underground car park - in view of the financial indicators obtained with the NPV, that is to be negative in 204 000 Euros, it was concluded that the park’s size doesn’t allow an investment return in the short/medium term. Finally, it was presented a proposal for the fundraising model to promote new partnerships, introducing new actions, new targets and procedures in order to promote revenue growth and, consequently, improve the financial sustainability of the institution.
