O trabalho de investigação que aqui se apresenta centra-se na relação profissional que se estabelece entre os assistentes sociais e as pessoas utilizadoras dos serviços com o objetivo de compreender a sua natureza, na perspetiva do profissional e no contexto da intervenção. A opção por este tema de investigação prende-se com a necessidade de clarificar atitudes e procedimentos do profissional, refletindo nesta dimensão e possibilitando uma prática profissional mais eficiente e eficaz. Neste sentido constitui-se com objeto de estudo o processo de construção da relação profissional, compreendendo o significado e a complexidade dessa relação assim como os constrangimentos que intervêm no processo. O processo metodológico consistiu numa abordagem fenomenológica, valorizando o significado atribuído pelos sujeitos e concretizada em métodos qualitativos de recolha e tratamento da informação. Foram entrevistados doze assistentes sociais, diversificando os campos de atividade, de modo a compreender as particularidades desta relação profissional, assim como os seus fundamentos e significado. Na conclusão sistematizou-se a dimensão ontológica, teórica e metodológica da relação profissional entre o assistente social e a pessoa utilizadora do serviço a partir da análise da narrativa das entrevistas.
This research focuses on the professional relationships that are established between the social workers and the users with the objective of understanding the nature, according with the professional perspective and in the context of the intervention. The options for this research subject is related with the need of clarify professional attitudes and procedures, reflecting on this and make the possibility of a professional practice more efficiently and effectively. According with this we define as subject of study the relationship construction process, understanding the meaning and the complexity of the relationship as well as the constraints involved in the process The methodological process consisted of a phenomenological approach valuing the meaning assigned by the social workers and implemented qualitative methods of collecting and processing information. We interviewed twelve social workers, diversifying the fields of activity, in order to understand the particulars and the meaning of the professional relationship. In the conclusion we systematized the ontological, epistemological and methodological approach to the professional relationship between social worker and the user.
