O presente relatório de estágio, realizado na Câmara Municipal de Trancoso, tem como principal objetivo melhorar o conhecimento atual relativo à qualidade de vida oferecida pelo centro histórico aos seus habitantes, de modo a apoiar o planeamento estratégico e a gestão local, indo ao encontro dos objetivos do Plano de Salvaguarda do Centro Histórico de Trancoso. A tomada de consciência do elevado valor patrimonial dos centros históricos em geral e, neste caso, em particular o de Trancoso, desencadeia a preocupação com a necessária recuperação física, funcional e social, de modo a pensar o seu futuro, o que passa necessariamente pelo estudo e compreensão da qualidade de vida dos indivíduos habitantes neste local e das suas necessidades e expectativas. Foi realizado um inquérito por questionário aos habitantes do centro histórico de Trancoso. Assim, foi possível uma caracterização social da população deste local e avaliou-se a perceção da qualidade de vida dos habitantes, tendo em conta as expectativas e as necessidades da população em estudo. Foi, ainda, possível diagnosticar quais os principais aspetos que caracterizam/descaracterizam o centro histórico e de que modo novas intervenções urbanas transformariam a perceção da qualidade de vida dos habitantes do centro histórico. Por fim, com a realização do estágio é também pretendido oferecer recomendações e soluções para um combate ativo ao abandono do centro histórico e definir estratégias para incrementar maior qualidade de vida a estes habitantes.
The present internship report, carried out at the City Council of Trancoso, has the main goal of improving the current knowledge regarding the quality of life the historical center offers to its inhabitants in order to support both the strategic planning and the local management, thus meeting the goals of the Safeguard Plan of the Historical Centre of Trancoso. The ongoing awareness of the high patrimonial value of the historical centers, particularly Trancoso’s, unleashes the concern for its needed physical, functional and social recovery, projecting its future, one that will necessarily pass by studying and understanding the quality of life of its dwellers, their expectations and needs. A survey, by means of a quiz to the inhabitants of the historical center of Trancoso, was made. This way, not only it was possible to obtain a social characterization of the population of this region but also to evaluate the perception of the quality of life of its dwellers, taking upon consideration both the needs and expectations of the population in question, in an attempt to diagnose the main aspects that characterize/mischaracterize the historical centre and how some new urban interventions would alter the perception the historical center’s inhabitants have of their quality of life. Ultimately, with the implementation of the internship it is also our goal to provide recommendations and solutions to an ative combat against the abandon of the historic center as well as to define strategies to enhance the life quality of these inhabitants.
