O presente projeto pretende ser um contributo para a instalação efetiva do Centro de Interpretação da Pintura Quinhentista na vila da Lourinhã. Sendo um concelho com um significativo espólio de pintura antiga, nomeadamente da época Manuelina, o mesmo encontra-se disperso e sem condições de acondicionamento, preservação e exposição. Assim, o Centro de Interpretação da Pintura Quinhentista funcionará como o elemento agregador não só de vontades em salvar o valioso património existente, mas também como agente principal de um trabalho articulado entre diversos parceiros que se constituam, efetivamente, como contribuintes válidos para um objetivo comum: a difusão cultural através de um Centro de Interpretação que recorrerá a diversos tipos de linguagem para chegar aos diferentes públicos-alvo. Considera-se, pois, que a existência de um Serviço Educativo será fundamental para adequar as mensagens a transmitir dentro e fora do Centro. A nova instituição a criar deverá funcionar igualmente como um centro agregador de conhecimento sobre a pintura quinhentista em que o visitante não vem apenas aprender, receber informação, mas também partilhar a sua visão e os seus conhecimentos. Esta é a principal razão porque se optou pelo Centro de Interpretação e não por um Museu

This project intends to contribute to the effective installation of the Interpretation Painting Centre of the Fifteenth Century in the city of Lourinhã. Being a county with a significant Estate of antique painting, particularly of the Manueline Period, it is dispersed and with no conditions of packaging, preservation and exhibition. Thus, the Interpretation Painting Centre of the Fifteenth Century works not only as the aggregator element for those who wants to save the valuable existing estate, but also as a pivot of an articulated work between several partners that recognized as an effective valid element for a common goal: cultural diffusion through an Interpretation Centre which will use different types of language to reach out different audiences. It is considered therefore that the existence of an Education Service will be fundamental to suit the messages to be transmitted within and outside the Centre. The new institution to be created should also act as an aggregator knowledge center on the fifteenth century painting where visitors come not only learn, receive information, but IV also share their vision and knowledge. This is the main reason why we chose to create an Interpretation Centre instead of a museum
