A inserção profissional/obtenção de emprego ocorre quando há uma combinação de fatores que visam a inclusão laboral e social de todas as pessoas. Contudo, são os adultos com deficiência que merecem a nossa atenção nesta investigação pela reivindicação persistente dos seus direitos. Com o objetivo de se identificar e analisar os fatores que podem facilitar ou dificultar a inserção profissional/obtenção de emprego, foi realizada uma investigação de tipologia mista que consistiu na aplicação de questionários a adultos com deficiência inseridos no mercado de trabalho e residentes no distrito de Viseu (n=20) e na realização de entrevistas a representantes de instituições de apoio à formação profissional com intervenção no distrito de Viseu (n=4). Os resultados deste estudo permitiram-nos verificar que a empregabilidade de pessoas com deficiência é uma grande preocupação dos intervenientes neste processo, com um longo e significativo caminho a percorrer. Foram identificados os seguintes obstáculos: a curta duração das medidas de apoio, a precariedade de ofertas de emprego e os poucos apoios financeiros. No que concerne aos fatores facilitadores, foram reconhecidos: o contributo da escola, o apoio da família e a formação profissional frequentada pelos adultos com deficiência.
The professional insertion/obtaining employment occurs when there is a combination of factors that aim to labour and social inclusion of all people. However, the adults with disabilities are the ones who deserve our attention in this investigation by the persistent claim of their rights. Aiming to identify and analyse the factors that may facilitate or hinder professional insertion/obtaining employment, an investigation of mixed type was held. It consisted on the application of questionnaires to adults with disabilities included in the labour market and residents in the district of Viseu (n=20), and also on interviews with the representatives of institutes that support vocational training with intervention in the district of Viseu (n=4). The results of this study allowed us to ascertain that the employability of people with disabilities is a major concern of all participants in this process, with a long and meaningful way to go. The following obstacles were identified: the short duration of the support measures, the precariousness of job offers and the few financial supports. In what concerns the facilitating factors, the following were recognized: the contribution of school, family support and vocational training attended by adults with disabilities.
