Description
This final report finalizes the Teaching Supervised Practise performed at Salesianos of Manique – School, carried out in the Master of Religious Science. It highlights the second teaching unit, "Jesus, a Man for others", from the 6th grade curriculum of Catholic Moral and Religious Education that shows Jesus as the One who loves and is near mankind through specific gestures of service that his disciples were invited to perpetuate. This unit's considerations stress the service to others as a proposal from Jesus that, in the present, is extended to Christian communities as well as to Catholic Moral and Religious Education. One can conclude that Catholic Moral and Religious Education should propose a Christian way of looking and living life that leads students to take on the common good and the care for others as a priority by implementing a criteria of solidarity at school. Therefore, the report presents the Pedagogy of Service as an innovative education proposal in an unique pedagogic method capable of integrating both service and learning. It is suggested the introduction of the Pedagogy of Service as a way to include the students in a rigorous learning process that also aims to answer specific needs of the community through service.
