Objectivo: O objectivo principal desta investigação é estudar a percepção do papel parental de casais homossexuais, de ambos os sexos, com ou sem filhos, e perceber qual é o impacto da satisfação conjugal global e da satisfação com o suporte social sobre a mesma. (não gosto como esta frase termina, achas que lhe consegues colocar isto de outra forma?) Amostra: Gays e Lésbicas (N=63) num relacionamento, com idades compreendidas entre os 20 e os 46 anos. Instrumentos: Após a leitura da Informação do Participante e da obtenção do Consentimento Informado, foi pedido a cada participante que preenchesse um Questionário Online, que incorporava 4 questionários diferentes, pela seguinte ordem: Escala de Satisfação com o Suporte Social, Escala de Avaliação da Satisfação com a Vida Conjugal, Escala de Percepção do Papel Parental (versão portuguesa adaptada) e, Questionário Sóciodemográfico. Hipóteses: Formularam-se catorze hipóteses. HE1: A percepção de apoio social e a percepção da satisfação conjugal em homossexuais dão contributos significativos para a explicação da variância estatística da percepção da importância de estimular o desenvolvimento cognitivo da criança. HE2: A percepção de apoio social e a percepção da satisfação conjugal em homossexuais dão contributos significativos para a explicação da variância estatística da percepção da importância de ensinar a criança a lidar com as suas emoções. HE3: A percepção de apoio social e a percepção da satisfação conjugal em homossexuais dão contributos significativos para a explicação da variância estatística da percepção da importância de estimular a aquisição de aptidões sociais pela criança. HE4: A percepção de apoio social e a percepção da satisfação conjugal em homossexuais dão contributos significativos para a explicação da variância estatística da percepção da importância de estimular a aquisição de normas e valores sociais pela criança. HE5: A percepção de apoio social e a percepção da satisfação conjugal em homossexuais dão contributos significativos para a explicação da variância estatística da percepção da importância de ensinar a criança a cuidar dos aspectos físicos da sua saúde. HE6: A percepção de apoio social e a percepção da satisfação conjugal em homossexuais dão contributos significativos para a explicação da variância estatística da percepção da importância de ensinar a criança a cuidar da sua higiene pessoal. HE7: A percepção de apoio social e a percepção da satisfação conjugal em homossexuais dão contributos significativos para a explicação da variância estatística da percepção da importância estimular as aptidões de sobrevivência da criança. HE8: A percepção de apoio social e a percepção da satisfação conjugal em homossexuais dão contributos significativos para a explicação da variância estatística da percepção da importância de promover os cuidados de saúde da criança. HE9: A percepção de apoio social e a percepção da satisfação conjugal em homossexuais dão contributos significativos para a explicação da variância estatística da percepção da importância de vi satisfazer as necessidades básicas da criança. HE10: A percepção de apoio social e a percepção da satisfação conjugal em homossexuais dão contributos significativos para a explicação da variância estatística da percepção da importância de ir ao encontro das necessidades emocionais da criança. HE11: A percepção de apoio social e a percepção da satisfação conjugal em homossexuais dão contributos significativos para a explicação da variância estatística da percepção da importância de providenciar os cuidados gerais da criança. HE12: A percepção de apoio social e a percepção da satisfação conjugal em homossexuais dão contributos significativos para a explicação da variância estatística da percepção da importância do relacionamento entre a criança e as instituições sociais. HE13: A percepção de apoio social e a percepção da satisfação conjugal em homossexuais dão contributos significativos para a explicação da variância estatística da percepção da importância do relacionamento da criança com o núcleo familiar. Tratamento estatístico: Realizaram-se diversas análises de regressão linear para cada uma das hipóteses em causa. Resultados: A primeira, terceira, quinta, décima primeira, décima terceira hipóteses e hipótese geral foram parcialmente confirmadas. Enquanto que a segunda, quarta, sexta, sétima, oitava, nona, décima e a décima segunda hipótese não foram confirmadas. Conclusão: Quanto maior for a Satisfação Conjugal Global mais ajustada será a percepção do papel parental.

Goal: The main goal of our research is to study the Parental Role Perception in same-sex couples, of both sexes with or without children, and to understand which impact of their global marital satisfaction and of their Social Support Satisfaction on their parental role perception. Sample: Gays and Lesbians (N=63) who are in a relationship, with age between 20 and 46 years old. Instruments: Each participant was asked to fill out a questionnaire online, which incorporated four different questionnaires in the following order: Escala de Satisfação com o Suporte Social (ESSS), the Escala de Satisfação em Áreas da Vida Conjugal (EASAVIC) e a Escala de Percepção do Papel Parental (EPPP – Portuguese adapted version) and sociodemographic questionnaire. Hypothesis: Fourteen formulated hypotheses were tested. HE1: The perception of social support and the perception of marital satisfaction in homosexual couples give significant contributions for the explanation of the statistical variance of the perceived importance of stimulating cognitive development. HE2: The perception of social support and the perception of marital satisfaction in homosexual couples give significant contributions for the explanation of the statistical variance of the perceived importance of teaching children to deal with their emotions. He3: The perception of social support and the perception of marital satisfaction in homosexual couples give significant contributions for the explanation of the statistical variance of the perception of the importance of encouraging the acquisition of social skills by the children. HE4: The perception of social support and the perception of marital satisfaction in homosexual couples give significant contributions for the explanation of the statistical variance of the perception of the importance of encouraging the acquisition of social norms and values input by the child. HE5: The perception of social support and the perception of marital satisfaction in homosexual couples give significant contributions for the explanation of the statistical variance of the perceived importance of teaching children to take care of the physical aspects of their health. HE6: The perception of social support and the perception of marital satisfaction in homosexual couples give significant contributions for the explanation of the statistical variance of the perceived importance of teaching children to take care of their personal hygiene. HE7: The perception of social support and the perception of marital satisfaction in homosexual couples give significant contributions to the explanation of the statistical variance of perceived importance to encourage the child’s survival skills. HE8: The perception of social support and the perception of marital satisfaction in homosexual couples give significant contributions for the explanation of the statistical variance of the perceived importance of promoting child health care. HE9: The perception of social support and the perception of marital satisfaction in homosexual couples give significant contributions for the explanation of the statistical variance of the perceived importance of meeting the basic needs of the child. HE10: The perception of social support and the perception of marital satisfaction in homosexual couples give viii significant contributions for the explanation of the statistical variance of the perceived importance of meeting the emotional needs of the child. HE11: The perception of social support and the perception of marital satisfaction in homosexual couples give significant contributions for the explanation of the statistical variance of perceived importance of providing general child care. HE12: The perception of social support and the perception of marital satisfaction in homosexual couples give significant contributions for the explanation of the statistical variance of the perceived importance of the playing the interface role between the child and the social institutions. HE13 - The perception of social support and the perception of marital satisfaction in homosexual couples give significant contributions for the explanation of the statistical variance of the perceived importance of playing interface role between the child and the family. Statistical analysis: Linear regression analyzes were applied for each of the hypothesis concerned. Results: The first, third, fifth, eleventh, thirteenth and general hypothesis were partially confirmed. While the second, fourth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth and twelfth hypothesis were not confirmed. Conclusion: The data obtained allows us to conclude that the greater Marital Satisfaction is the better adjusted perception of the parental role becomes.
