A tese de mestrado é dedicada ao tema da talha retabular do primeiro barroco nacional, com incidência na produção da cidade de Lisboa nomeadamente na tipologia dos retábulos colaterais. Para tal, o objeto de estudo escolhido foram os retábulos colaterais, pertencentes atualmente à Igreja de São Bartolomeu da Charneca do Lumiar, em Lisboa. Pretende-se que haja uma tomada de consciência sobre a valorização cultural de várias artes presentes que traduzem o nosso património nacional e que necessita urgentemente de ser salvaguardado. Na preservação desta herança cultural, o enquadramento histórico, técnico e artístico, por comparação com outros, quer a nível da sua construção quer a nível da sua historicidade e importância, estão aliados à necessidade da sua conservação e restauro para que, futuramente, possam ser apresentadas novas técnicas e ações de diagnóstico e reabilitação. No caminho da credibilidade destas operações, a apresentação de opções técnicas e de intervenções comparativas já efetuadas, é fundamental afigurando-se a preservação como primordial já que o nosso Património assenta num princípio de bem único.
Abstract: The topic of this master’s thesis is the first national baroque carved altarpieces, focusing on the production in Lisbon, specifically the typology of the side altars. For this, the object study chosen was the side-altars currently belonging to the Church of St. Bartholomew in Lumiar, Lisbon. The purpose is to raise the awareness of the cultural value of various arts represented, that reflect our national heritage and urgently need to be preserved. In preserving this cultural heritage, the historical, artistic and technical framework in comparison with others, either at the level of its construction or at the level of its history and importance, allied to the need for conservation and preservation for presentation in the future of new technical options and diagnostic and rehabilitation activities. For the credibility of these operations, the presentation of technical options and comparative interventions, already undertaken, is essential. The preservation of our heritage is paramount given that our heritage is unique.
