The following Dissertation should be considered as the reflex of a group of learnings which culminated in the Drawing Master’s degree, from the University of Fine Arts in Lisbon, which has been organized in three main chapters: 1) methodology; 2) revision of Literature/ theoretical setting; 3) observation and data analysis; and 4) presentation of the project results. The investigation developed, concerning the dissertation, envisioned reaching the following objectives: verifying and making evident the presence of drawing in the production process of animation; identifying limitations/difficulties inherent to animators with basic drawing foundation; finding drawing exercises that help resolve those same difficulties/ limitations. Considering the characteristics and objectives of this investigational project, it was opted to follow a method of qualitative nature, recurring also to a multiplicity of techniques as well as instruments of data gathering (observation, interviewing, and questionnaire and document analysis). The conclusion of the investigation and result analysis, allowed the verification of the importance of drawing teaching for the animation proficiency, mainly through the production of a series of exercises, contributive to the establishment of better animation practitioners and, consequently, to the improvement of general results in the animation practice
