Description
The study of lifestyle migration in Portugal is still mostly unexplored and little is known about why and how migrants from northern Europe live in Portugal. This work aims to trace an image of the german migration in Aljezur, a municipality in the Algarve with the largest number of foreign residents of the country. Based on the analysis of 26 interviews with germans who are mostly in the active age, this qualitative study adopted an analytical framework that takes into account the lives of the migrants before, during and after the migration process. The result is an academic contribution that reflects the diversity that exists within the context of lifestyle migration and the complexity of german migration patterns in Aljezur.
