Pretendemos com este trabalho analisar a forma como Heródoto incorporou e tratou os deuses Olímpicos na obra Histórias. Analisamos o percurso orientalizante da mitologia e sociedade grega, e os respectivos veículos de transmissão cultural. Elaboramos, sucintamente, sobre alguns aspectos simbólicos inerentes ao culto dos Doze Deuses e tratamos em detalhe os passos que nos pareceram mais significativos na obra em questão para caracterizar e enquadrar a forma como Heródoto escreveu sobre os deuses Olímpicos.
We aim with this work to examine how Herodotus incorporated and treated the Olympic gods in the Histories. We analyze the orientalizing path of greek mythology and society and the respective transmission vehicles.We elaborate briefly on some symbolic aspects of the worship of the Twelve Gods and treat in detail the passages that seemed the most significant in the work in question to characterize and frame the way in which Herodotus wrote about the Olympic gods
