This project aimed to create scientific illustration of moths. It was developed based on the entomological collection of the National Museum of Natural History and Science (MUHNAC), more specifically moths present in the territories of Mainland Portugal and Madeira and African countries like Angola, Mozambique and Sao Tome and Principe. The general objective of the project was to work with scientific illustration in the service of science, communicating knowledge about various species of moths and showcasing the importance of what a museum collection has in terms of scientific and public interest at a national and international level. A method of both traditional drawing and digital painting was used for the illustration process. From the illustrations made, a book - "Cem Traças" (100 Moths) - was edited and published, along with merchandise materials which were used in several science communication activities and in two exhibits
