Nas últimas décadas, houve um desenvolvimento crescente e evolutivo das novas tecnologias de informação e comunicação, que além de proporcionarem benefícios aos indivíduos, também trouxe riscos que deixaram os indivíduos muito mais vulneráveis e desprotegidos, como por exemplo o Cyberbullying. O papel do agressor, da vítima e dos observadores tornou-se alvo de interesse, o que conduziu a várias investigações nessa área. Este estudo pretendeu compreender de que forma os adolescentes percecionam o fenómeno Cyberbullying e se o efeito do observador se reflete no discurso dos adolescentes relativamente a situações de Cyberbullying. Os dados foram recolhidos de 218 participantes no inventário e 25 na entrevista. Os resultados indicam que as verbalizações dos adolescentes observadores de situações de Cyberbullying remetem para todas as fases do Modelo de Intervenção dos Observadores. Na primeira fase, Ocorrência, os adolescentes reconheceram a ocorrência da situação (82,46%) devido aos comportamentos observados. Na segunda fase, Interpretação da situação, os adolescentes interpretaram a situação como sendo algo grave (88,42%), devido, maioritariamente, à intenção dos agressores (46,32%) e ao impacto causado à vítima (27,37%). Na terceira fase, Responsabilidade, os adolescentes assumiram a responsabilidade da situação (78,18%). Na quarta fase, Saber como Intervir ou Fornecer Ajuda, os adolescentes indicaram providenciar ajuda, tendo perceções de autoeficácia positivas na resolução da situação (94,4%) e intenção comportamental de defender a vítima (45%). Na quinta fase, Implementar Decisões de Intervenção, a maioria providenciou ajuda de forma direta (57,69%). Os observadores de situações de Cyberbullying demonstraram ter um papel fundamental na resolução da situação, implementando medidas que conduzam à resolução da situação.
In the last decades, there has been a growing and evolving development of new information and communication technologies, which, in addition to providing benefits to individuals, also brought risks that: made individuals much more vulnerable and unprotected; e.g., as Cyberbullying. The role of the aggressor, the victim and the observers became a target of interest, which led to several investigations in this area. This study aimed to understand how adolescents perceive the phenomenon Cyberbullying and whether the effect of the bystanders is reflected in the discourse of adolescents regarding situations of Cyberbullying. Data was collected from 218 participants via the inventory and 25 by interview. The results indicate that the verbalizations of adolescents observant of situations of Cyberbullying refer to all phases of the Model of Intervention of Observers. In the first phase, Occurrence, the adolescents recognized the occurrence of the situation (82.46%) due to the behaviors observed. In the second phase, interpretation of the situation, the adolescents interpreted the situation as something serious (88.42%), mainly due to the intention of the aggressors (46.32%) and the impact caused to the victim (27.37%). In the third phase, Responsibility, adolescents assumed responsibility for the situation (78.18%). In the fourth phase, knowing how to intervene or provide help, the adolescents indicated that they provide help, having perceptions of positive self-efficacy in resolving the situation (94.4%) and behavioral intention to defend the victim (45%). In the fifth phase, implementing intervention decisions, the majority provided direct assistance (57.69%). Cyberbullying observers have shown that they play a key role in resolving the situation by implementing measures to address the situation.
