Os hospitais são cada vez mais exigentes e mais racionalizados na medida que no seu planeamento são tidos em conta fatores como os ambientais, custos financeiros, investidores, prazos curtos de tempo, efemeridade dos investimentos, conjuntura global, entre outros. Estes elementos complicam a tarefa do arquiteto que por vezes delega para segundo plano o pensar em arquitetura na perspetiva do utilizador. Não existem muitos estudos sobre este tema pelo que este assunto merece ser explorado, então achou-se pertinente o estudo sobre o tema: “O Fluxo como Condicionante na Arquitetura dos Hospitais”. Tendo em conta que a arquitetura é para servir o utilizador, iremos estudar o fluxo nos hospitais e como este pode condicionar as soluções arquitetónicas. O entendimento do fluxo reflete o conhecimento sobre os cuidados de saúde, quanto maior for a sua compreensão maior será a responsabilidade em garantir o acesso seguro e eficaz a estes serviços. A finalidade desta investigação é aprofundar o conhecimento do fluxo na arquitetura dos hospitais, e o seu papel na estrutura e no funcionamento do hospital. Neste trabalho faremos uma revisão da literatura de forma a entender a arquitetura hospitalar e os estudos já realizados, para que possamos caracterizar a arquitetura hospitalar, desde o seu aparecimento até aos nossos dias, descrevendo tipologias, anatomias e métodos de projeto hospitalares. Por fim, iremos aprofundar o conhecimento sobre o fluxo, as suas tipologias e sua influência nas interações das unidades funcionais de um hospital. Esta investigação espera ser um contributo para um melhor entendimento da arquitetura hospitalar e do papel do fluxo como sendo uma condicionante em todo o processo mas também como regulador do espaço funcional do hospital. O completo entendimento do fluxo hospitalar vai permitir ao arquiteto tornar-se mais exigente e competente, facilitando a estadia segura e eficaz dos doentes e dos profissionais de saúde.

Hospitals are increasingly demanding and more streamlined as that in your planning are taken into account factors such as environmental, financial costs, investors, short deadlines, ephemeral investments, global conjuncture, among others. These factors complicate the task of the architect who sometimes delegates to the background the thinking about architecture from the user´s perspective. There are not many studies about this topic therefore this subject deserves to be explored. It was felt appropriate the study on the topic: "The Flow as a Requirement in Architecture of Hospitals." Given that the architecture is to serve the user, we will study the flow in hospitals and how this can assign terms to the architectural solutions. The understanding of the flow reflects the knowledge about health care, the greater your understanding greater will be the responsibility to ensure the safe and effective access to these services. The purpose of this research is to deepen the knowledge of the flow in the architecture of hospitals, and their role in the structure and functioning of the hospital. In this paper we will review the literature in order to understand the hospital architecture and the previous studies, wherefore we can characterize the hospital architecture, from its appearance to the present day, describing typologies, morphologies and project methods of hospitals. Finally, we will deepen our knowledge of the flow, their types and their influence on the interactions of functional units of a hospital. This investigation expects to be a contribution to a better understanding of the hospital´s architecture and the role of the flow as a condition on the all process but also as a regulator of the functional space of the hospital. The complete understanding of the flow will allow the hospital´s architect become more demanding and competent, ensuring a safe and effective stay for patients and health professionals.
