The present investigation aimed to evaluate the influence of color on taste perceived by children. Three experiments were made. The first experiment aimed to ascertain the existence of relationships between certain colors with specific flavors. The second experiment was aimed to examine the perception of flavor perceived, specifically the sweetness. To investigate the influence of color in the identification of flavors was the purpose of the experiment number three. The sample used for this study consisted of 49 children of the college's Associação Cultural e Recreativa de Fornelos, of whom 25 were female and 24 male, aged between 10 and 13 years of age. The instruments used consisted of three sheets of self-registration, as well as the material necessary for the execution of the experiments. The results indicate that the color has a major influence on the palate. More in particular, the results reveal that there are strong associations of color / flavor, different colors that generate different levels of perception of sweetness and the coloring inadequate solutions with flavor results in a decreased accuracy of identification of flavors.
