No âmbito da obtenção do mestrado em Psicologia Clínica e da Saúde apresenta-se essa dissertação, organizada no formato de artigo segundo o previsto do regulamento para obtenção do grau mestre em Psicologia da Universidade da Beira Interior. Este documento descreve a pesquisa realizada com inspirações de questões que atentam ao desempenho e funcionalidade sexual em adultos e as relações destes, com as variáveis psicossexuais: a autoestima, a depressão, a preocupação sexual. Segundo Teusch et al. (1995, citado por Clayton, MacGarvey e Clavet 1997), traços e características psíquicas como a ansiedade, depressão, transtornos de humor e determinadas psicopatologias, podem afetar direta e negativamente o funcionamento sexual. Utilizando de um método quantitativos de coleta de dados inspirado nos trabalhos de Snell & Papini (1889) com sua escala sobre a sexualidade (The Sexuality Scale) que busca mensurar alguns aspetos da sexualidade humana: A estima sexual, a Depressão sexual e a preocupação Sexual, e nos estudos de Anita H. Clayton, Elizabeth L. McGarvey, and Gail J. Clavet (1997) e sua escala de alterações no funcionamento sexual (The Changes In Sexual Functioning Questionnaire -CSFQ). O presente estudo teve como objetivos: (1 ) compreender a relação entre a autoestima, a depressão e a preocupação sexual no funcionamento sexual em adultos, (2) comparar a relação entre as variáveis no funcionamento sexual entre géneros (feminino e masculino) e entre as diferentes orientações sexuais (Heterossexuais, bissexuais e homossexuais) e (3) determinação da relação entre o funcionamento sexual e o bem-estar psicossexual humano. Na parte final da dissertação é apresentado o anexo teórico, elaborado de modo a complementar e apresentar uma base teórica solida para melhor compreensão dos temas abordados no presente estudo: funcionalidade sexual, depressão sexual, autoestima sexual, ansiedade sexual.
In the context of obtaining the master's degree in clinical psychology and health presents this dissertation, organized in the scientific paper format, witch, according to the regulation for obtaining the master's degree in Psychology at the University of Beira Interior. This document describes the research conducted with inspirations from issues that are a threat to sexual performance and functionality in adults and the relationship of these with psychosexual variables: self esteem, depression, sexual concerns. For Teusch et al. (1995, cited by Clayton, and Clavet MacGarvey 1997), traits and mental characteristics such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders and certain psychopathologies, can affect directly and negatively the sexual functioning. Using a quantitative method of data collection inspired by the works of Snell & Papini (1889) with its scale about sexuality (The Sexuality Scale) which seeks to measure some aspects of human sexuality: sexual self-esteem, depression and Sexual concerns, and in studies of Anita h. Clayton, Elizabeth l. McGarvey, and Gail j. Clavet (1997) and its scale of changes in sexual functioning (The Changes In Functioning Sex Questionnaire-CSFQ). The present study had as objectives: (1) to understand the relationship between the self-esteem, depression and sexual concerns in sexual functioning in adults, (2) compare the relationship between variables in sexual functioning between genders (male and female) and between the different sexual orientations (heterosexual, bisexual and homosexual) and (3) determining the relationship between sexual functioning and well-being human psychosexual. In the final part of the dissertation is presented the theoretical annex is include in such a way as to complement and provide a solid theoretical basis for better understanding of the constructs presents in this study: sexual functionality, depression, self-esteem, sexual anxiety.
