O presente conjunto de registos surge no seguimento de um Estágio Observacional, efetuado nas Clínicas Leite & Leite, em Coimbra, com uma duração de 200 horas, ao longo de 6 meses do 2º ano do Mestrado em Optometria, em Ciências da Visão. No respetivo relatório é feita uma descrição do local onde decorreu o estágio e um estudo estatístico observacional e descritivo, considerando como variáveis a idade, o género, as patologias observadas, bem como os exames complementares realizados aos pacientes. É de salientar que, no estudo em questão, foram observados 102 doentes, com diversas patologias e idades. No que diz respeito à Dissertação, é realizada uma breve introdução sobre “Queratocone”, com uma fundamentação teórica sobre os correspondentes tratamentos em que foi dado maior destaque à implantação de Anel Corneano Intraestromal (Anéis de Ferrara). Para fundamentar a teoria exposta, realizou-se um caso clínico de um doente real com Queratocone, que foi seguido na clínica. Numa fase final, são apresentadas conclusões sobre o caso em estudo, relacionando-o com a teoria desenvolvida ao longo da Dissertação.
The present set of records appears as a follow-up to an Observational Internship completed in the Clinics Leite & Leite, in Coimbra, with the duration of 200 hours, during six month of the second year of the Masters in Optometric. In this report is done a description of the institution where the internship and an observational descriptive statistic study took place. It will also describe the complementary exams performed on patients. It should be noticed that, in the study in question, where observed 102 patients, with different pathologies and of different ages. In what concerns the Dissertation, there is a brief introduction about “Keratoconus”, with a theoretical justification about the corresponding treatments in which was given greater emphasis to the Intrastromal Corneal Ring (Farrara Rings). To justify the presented theory was done a case study of a real patient with Keratoconus that was treated in the clinic. In a final stage are presented conclusions about the case in study, relating it to the theory developed throughout the Dissertation.
