Description
There is no question about the presence and importance of the media in society, since they are a powerful instrument of dissemination of information knowledge, values and ideologies. The television, in the traditional way of watching it, marked immediately the world and the lives of people who joined the magic box to learn more about the world and everything around them. With technology advancing at an incredible speed, not all media were able to keep up with emerging transformations. The television, generally regarded as the most popular medium, began to have some problems because other strong means were competing with it. This dissertation aims to understand what is television these days for young people that, surrounded by multiple screens, have several new options to obtain information, learn and communicate; and also to understand if the value that television has and what it is for the older generation continues to exist for young people who were born in the digital age and deal with the most different media every day, anytime, in a media context that changed his way of living and socializing.
