Description
The literature on sports marketing does not address the relational issue that exists between different entities. This study focuses on the concept of value density, in particular, if the increase of this density is also accompanied by an increase in the complexity of the relationship between actors. To this end, the concept of value density is applied to the empirical context of two football clubs and their marketing activities, in order to understand how to combine information, knowledge, resources and competencies. The findings show that football clubs establish and develop relationships with other companies based on licensing agreements, in order to expand their offerings. These relationships bring forth not only new products and services, but also new business opportunities and connections with other companies.
