No presente trabalho, partimos do princípio de que quem narra acontecimentos tão violentos e traumáticos como o Holocausto, busca um sentido para o vivido, busca uma necessidade de dizer “eu existo”. Através da análise das obras de Primo Levi, (Se isto é um homem e Os que sucumbem e os que se salvam) procurarei compreender o sentido da escrita do autor, quem ou o que procurava ele enquanto escrevia e qual a função que a escrita teve para si. Para que estas questões possam ser compreendidas, será feita uma breve contextualização histórica do holocausto e integraremos a escrita do autor na literatura de testemunho, uma vez que teremos como hipóteses que Primo Levi, através das suas experiências traumáticas, escreve o seu testemunho na procura de uma reparação. Reparação de si próprio, do seu eu profundamente desamparado e ferido pela violência, mas também uma reparação do objeto interno. Em segundo lugar, será proposto que a sua escrita lhe oferece uma função continente-conteúdo capaz de o acolher, e que aparece portanto como mediadora da sua relação com o outro, neste sentido inspirar-nos-emos em Bion e na sua ideia de função continente-conteúdo e função alfa para podermos discutir as nossas hipóteses.
ABSTRACT: In the present study, we begin from the assumption that those who narrate such violent and traumatic events as the Holocaust are seeking a meaning of the lived. Through the analysis of Primo Levi’s works (“If this is a man” and “Those who succumb and those who are saved”) we aim to understand the meaning of the author's writing, who he was looking for when he was writing, as well as the role the writing had for him. In order to understand those issues, there will be a brief historical context of the holocaust and the author's writing will be integrated into the testimony literature. Since we hypothesize that Primo Levi's through his traumatic experiences writes his testimony in the search for a reparation. Reparation of himself, of his deeply forsaken self and wounded by violence, but also a reparation of the internal object. Secondly, it is proposed that his writing offers him a continent-content function capable of accepting him, and which therefore appears as the mediator of his relation to the other, in this sense we shall be inspired by Bion and his idea of a con- content and function so we can discuss our hypotheses.
