O estudo atual insere-se na área curricular disciplinar de Educação Visual e Tecnológica e pretende analisar de que forma a utilização do método de resolução de problemas como estratégia em sala de aula contribui para o desenvolvimento da autonomia e a construção do conhecimento próprio pelo aluno. Sendo este projeto uma investigação-ação, centra-se no desenvolvimento do um projeto com uma turma do 5º ano, composta por vinte alunos dos quais doze são do sexo feminino e oito do sexo masculino, com idades compreendidas entre os nove e os doze anos. A problemática provém da perceção das dificuldades demonstradas pelos alunos em realizar de forma autónoma e ativa as atividades propostas em sala de aula na disciplina de Educação Visual e Tecnológica. Pretendeu-se que, com este estudo, os alunos aumentassem o seu nível de autonomia e construção do conhecimento próprio, fatores que lhes serão imprescindíveis quer na disciplina de Educação Visual e Tecnológica quer nas restantes e, inclusive, na sua vida futura. Fomentar o gosto pela arte, a aplicação de várias técnicas e materiais, bem como a pesquisa são pontos que com o desenvolvimento deste projeto se espera verificar que melhorem, conseguindo-se assim, uma participação mais ativa dos alunos na disciplina de Educação Visual e Tecnológica. Neste estudo serão também apresentados os resultados da investigação obtidos através da recolha de dados que passaram essencialmente pela observação participante, realizada através de notas de campo e de pesquisa documental.
The current study is inserted in the curricular disciplinary area of Visual and Technological Education and intends to analyze in which way the use of the problem resolution method as a classroom strategy contributes to the development of the autonomy and the construction of the self-knowledge by the student. Being that this project is an investigation-action, the object of the study starts with the development of a project with a 5th grade class, composed by twenty students of which twelve are from the female sex and eight from the male sex, with ages between nine and twelve years old. This study emerges from the difficulties shown by the students to accomplish in an autonomous and active way the activities proposed in the classroom in the subject of Visual and Technological Education. This study was intended for students to increase their levels of autonomy and self-knowledge construction, factors that will be indispensable to them both in the Visual and Technological Education subject and the remaining subjects, and also in their future life. To promote the taste for art, the use of several techniques and materials, as well as research, are items expected to be improved with the development of this project, therefore reaching a more active participation from the students of the Visual and Technological Education subject. In this study, the results of the investigation will also be presented; these results were obtained by the gathering of data, mainly by participant observation, accomplished through field notes and documental research.
