O presente Trabalho de Investigação Aplicada (TIA) subordinado ao tema Angola Paz Total : Processo de Pacificação, Acordos e Reintegração dos Ex-Militares versa sobre aspetos inerentes à árdua trajetória de Angola à conquista da paz total. Definimos como questão central: “Será que a morte do líder e fundador da UNITA, Jonas Savimbi, serviu de força motriz para o alcance da paz definitiva em Angola?” De maneira que pudessemos responder à questão central, dividimos o estudo em quatro capítulos. Nestes, são espelhados de forma enquadrada os assuntos que conduzirão às conclusões do trabalho que nos propusemos investigar. É importante frisar que para uma maior compreensão do prezado leitor sobre o desenrolar deste Trabalho de Investigação Aplicada, fizemos uma sistematização dos capítulos desde às origens dos principais acontecimentos ou momentos, considerados como negativos para o povo angolano até à atualidade, culminando com uma perspetiva positiva ou de melhoria resultante do advento da paz. Inicialmente, incidiremos sobre a origem dos três principais movimentos nacionalistas angolanos, de igual modo, falaremos sobre a biografia dos seus atores políticos. Seguidamente falaremos sobres as fases principais no processo de paz angolano. Um dos objetivos do TIA é investigar o que fracassou nos acordos feitos com vista a se alcançar a paz, daí que, no capítulo seguinte trataremos das causas do fracasso de três acordos. Finalmente, debruçar-nos-emos sobre a repercussão da paz, evidenciando que os ventos que agora sopram em Angola são de paz. A metodologia do trabalho baseou-se em bibliografias, documentos, algumas gravações de vídeos já existentes sobre o assunto estudado, atividades de campo realizadas em Lisboa, Porto e Angola. Pelo que no final desta investigação verificamos que realmente o percurso de Angola à conquista da paz foi árduo e sinuoso. Também constatamos que depois de muitos anos de conflito o país está efetivamente em paz. Este feito só foi possível depois da morte do líder da UNITA Jonas Savimbi. Como resultado da paz, o país tem tido grande crescimento e desenvolvimento em todos os setores.

Abstract The following applied research under the theme Angola Total Peace: Peace Process, Agreements and Reintegration of Former Military, focus on a perspective inherent to the arduous journey Angola has faced to the achievement of total peace. We defined as main question: "Does the death of Jonas Savimbi, former leader and founder of UNITA, served as a driving force towards the achievement of lasting peace in Angola?” So that we could answer this main question, we divided the study into four chapters. These issues portrayed in a framed way will lead us to the conclusions of the work that we set out to investigate. For a better understanding of the reader, it is also important to emphasize that on the process of development of this applied research, a systematization of the chapters was made from the origins of the main events or moments, considered as being negative for the Angolan citizens to the present day, culminating with a positive frame of reference or improvement resulting from the advent of the peace process. Primarily we will be focusing our attention on the origins of the three most iconic Angolan nationalist movements, while referencing the biography of its political actors. Hereafter we will describe key stages in the Angolan peace process; one goal of this applied research is to investigate what has failed in the agreements made in order to achieve peace, so that in the next chapter the causes for failure of three agreements will be highlighted. Ultimately, the issue of repercussion of the impact of peace will be mentioned, pointing out that the winds that are now blowing in Angola are peaceful. Methodologically, we relied on bibliographies, documents, some video recordings on the subject studied, field activities made in Lisbon, Porto and Angola. Whereby in the end of this investigation we actually verified that the route Angola has followed aiming to reach the peace was hard and tortuous. We also found that after several years of conflict the country is in effective peace. This prowess was only possible to achieve due to the death of Jonas Savimbi, the leader of UNITA. As a direct outcome of this effective peace, the country has had great growth and development in all areas of activity.
