Este Trabalho de Investigação Aplicada, intitulado “A GÉNESE DA FRELIMO - Os grupos que estiveram na formação da Frente de Libertação Moçambicana (1964–1974)”, está estruturado em quatro capítulos distintos inter-relacionados entre si. No primeiro capítulo faremos um enquadramento geral acerca da caracterização geográfica, humana e económica de Moçambique, acompanhada de uma resenha histórica sobre a origem deste território. Portanto, teremos que ter em consideração os factores que afectaram decisivamente o rumo da guerra colonial em Moçambique. No segundo capítulo apresentaremos as características do Movimento Descolonizador em África, e os motivos que antecedem a luta de libertação colonial, enquadrando a guerra no tempo (de 1964-1974). Estabeleceremos uma diferença entre a guerra de guerrilha e a guerra subversiva, falaremos sobre o pós II Guerra Mundial, os dois grandes blocos antagónicos (EUA e URSS), os acontecimentos que marcaram a conferência de Bandung e o do Terceiro Mundo, a posição tomada por Portugal p erante esses movimentos, e o início da luta pela independência nas colónias portuguesas (Angola, Guiné e Moçambique). No terceiro capítulo abordaremos a luta de libertação em Moçambique, destacando o aparecimento dos primeiros sentimentos anti-coloniais que caracterizaram o território, o nascimento do sentimento nacionalista por parte dos moçambicanos e a formação dos primeiros movimentos de carácter nacional. Reflectiremos acerca das primeiras revoltas antes da formação das grandes organizações políticas que vieram dar origem à FRELIMO. No quarto capítulo do trabalho abordaremos a origem da FRELIMO, como se deu o seu aparecimento e a união dos vários movimentos que estiveram na sua génese. Apresentaremos também as características de cada um dos movimentos (UNAMI, UDENAMO e MANU), os objectivos da FRELIMO, as divergências no seio da Frente e os principais acontecimentos rumo à independência em 1975. Para finalizar o trabalho será apresentada uma conclusão, que procurará confrontar a informação obtida com os objectivos que nos fomos propondo atingir.

Abstract This Working Applied Research entitled "GENESIS OF FRELIMO - The groups that were at the training of Mozambican Liberation Front (1964-1974)”, is structured in four separate inter-related chapters. In the first chapter we will make a general framework about the geographical character, and human and economic feasibility of Mozambique, together with a historical review of the origin of this territory. Therefore, we must take into account the factors that decisively affect the course of the colonial war in Mozambique. In the second chapter we will present the characteristics of the Movement decolonization in Africa, and the reasons leading to the colonial liberation struggle, framing the war in the period 1964-1974. We Will establish a difference between guerrilla warfare and subversive war, and talk about the post second World War period, the two great antagonistic blocs (U.S. and USSR), the events that marked the Bandung Conference and the Third World, the position taken by Portugal before these movements, and the beginning of the independence struggle in the Portuguese colonies (Angola, Guiné and Mozambique). The third chapter will focus on the liberation struggle in Mozambique, highlighting the emergence of the first anti-colonial feelings that characterized the country, the birth of nationalist sentiment by Mozambicans and training of the first movements of national character. We reflect on the first revolts before the formation of large political organizations that have given rise to FRELIMO. In the fourth chapter of the work we discuss the origin of FRELIMO, how it appeared and the union of the several movements which led to its genesis. We will also present the characteristics of each movement (UNAMI, UDENAMO and MANU), the objectives of FRELIMO, the differences within the Front and the main events toward independence in 1975. To finish the work, we will present a conclusion, that attempts to compare the information obtained with the objectives that we proposing to achieve.
