A presente dissertação, intitulada Sobre Os Memoráveis, de Lídia Jorge – Ao encontro da luz primordial, trata o romance salientando as linhas luminosas que emergem imparáveis do tempo. O eixo reside nos sentidos primordiais que enformam e se propagam a partir de um dia único – o dia 25 de Abril de 1974 em Portugal. A narrativa, convertida em fábula, devolve ao futuro uma essência de ensinamentos a não perder, redesenhando a utopia de um mundo melhor. As deformações do espaço-tempo e das próprias personagens ao longo do romance dão corpo ao questionamento permanente como princípio de uma visão caleidoscópica e livre. Estruturalmente este trabalho organiza-se em cinco capítulos, cada um composto por subcapítulos, antecedidos por uma introdução elucidativa das razões moventes e das linhas gerais propostas. No primeiro capítulo estabelecem-se referências teóricas ligadas ao conceito de tempo e à sua transversalidade na narrativa. Em seguida, no segundo capítulo, clarifica-se a estrutura global do romance e o seu objectivo central. No terceiro capítulo, “Viagem ao Coração da Fábula”, título do painel central do romance, concretizam-se as problemáticas ligadas ao tempo, aprofundando a questão fundamental da fotografia como conceito e como ente especial no contexto narrativo. No quarto capítulo, as personagens memoráveis saem da fotografia, uma por uma, para uma análise mais longa. Agrupam-se, de forma intencional, por um lado as personagens militares que cumprem missões, códigos e uma ética que se quer salientar, e, por outro lado, as personagens civis que dão forma especial à inscrição desse dia num certo para sempre (um fotógrafo, um homem ligado à música e dois poetas). Termina-se, num quinto capítulo, com algumas linhas conclusivas que se constituem como uma síntese reflexiva aberta; regista-se ainda uma cumplicidade com o não esquecimento como condição de futuro.
This dissertation is entitled "Sobre Os Memoráveis, de Lídia Jorge – ao encontro da luz primordial" (“About Os Memoráveis, by Lídia Jorge – finding the primordial light”), is based on the analysis of this novel in the sense of capturing and emphasizing the luminous lines that, by reconfiguring the contingencies of time, emerge unstoppable from it. It is about capturing the primordial meanings that shape and spread from a single day – April 25, 1974 in Portugal. The narrative, converted into a fable, has the ability of returning to the future, essential teachings that cannot to be missed, aiming at redesigning the utopia of a better world. The deformation of space-time and of the characters themselves throughout the novel give substance to the permanent questioning as a condition for a kaleidoscopic and free vision. Structurally this work is divided into five chapters, each one composed of subchapters, preceded by an elucidative introduction of the driving reasons and the general guidelines proposed. In a first chapter, some generic and theoretical references linked to a concept of time and its transversality in the narrative are analysed. Then, in the second chapter, the overall structure of the novel and its central purpose are clarified. The third chapter covers themes that allow an approach of the "Journey to the Heart of the Fable", the title of the central panel of the novel, concretizing the time-related problems in the narrative and deepening the fundamental issue of photography as a concept and as special entity in the narrative context. In the fourth chapter, the memorable characters come out from the photography, one-by-one, for a longer analysis that is detailed. The methodology chosen for the analysis groups: on the one hand, the military characters that fulfil missions and the codes of ethics that are emphasized; and on the other hand, civilian characters in whom the dazzle remained and who give special shaping to the inscription of that day in a certain forever: a photographer, a man associated with music and two poets. The thesis ends with some concluding lines, which are an open synthesis of all the reflections made in previous chapters. I also put forward my complicity with non-forgetfulness as a condition for our future.
