This project arises from the will to explore marginalized, urban sociocultural contexts, that are geographically close but in reality far removed by the almost total absence of a one-to-one interaction with their urban surroundings. For a year we experienced a direct and assiduous interaction with this place, Cova da Moura, and its cultural, social, personal, political, historical and sensitive specificities. The goal is to communicate this process of discovery through drawing, assuming all the subjectivities involved in a necessarily very personal interaction. The experimentation of this place, through the interaction of the self with it’s various particularities, is allied with the role of memory and imagination in creating a new place for drawing. The artistic project consists of creating several series of drawings, built from our experience in the place of Cova da Moura. These drawings, made some time after our contact, explore the interactions between memory and imagination in search of a new place, and they refer to our relationship with the people who live and occupy it, and who, by their presence, allow our understanding of its reality
