Descrição
Palm oil is one of the most used edible oils among the FMCG industry, being present in more than 50% of the available products on supermarkets´ shelves. With a sharp increase in its production due to its versatility and relative low cost, palm oil has strongly been associated with deforestation practices and with its negative and irreversible consequences. The aim of this case study is to analyse palm oil market in the last decades and give a wide and critical perspective on the issue and its possible alternative policy approaches.
