Segundo o Gabinete de Estratégia e Planeamento (GEP), o número de acidentes de trabalho está a aumentar em Portugal, desde 2012. Os acidentes de trabalho trazem muitos prejuízos para o trabalhador, para as organizações e para o próprio estado pelo que, conhecer as suas causas revela-se de extrema importância. Este trabalho pretendeu investigar e analisar os acidentes de trabalho ocorridos na CMO ao longo de um período de três anos (2014 a 2016) recorrendo a metodologias formais e estruturadas - método RIAAT (Registo, Investigação e Análise de Acidentes de Trabalho). Em termos metodológicos, o estudo englobou a caracterização do efetivo da CMO e sua sinistralidade. Para a investigação dos acidentes de trabalho escolheu-se o setor da Recolha de Resíduos Urbanos (RRU) da Divisão de Higiene Urbana (DHU). A aplicação do método IAAT integrou a reclassificação e recodificação de 109 acidentes e a investigação aprofundada de 19 acidentes, pela aplicação de entrevistas semiestruturadas, aos sinistrados. Os resultados da investigação mostram a tipologia do Acidente ipo, presente no RRU, e permitem caracterizar as causas imediatas e causas latentes (Erros Humanos, Factores Contributivos Individuais, Factores do Local de Trabalho e factores Organizacionais e de Gestão) que contribuíram diretamente para a ocorrência dos mesmos.
According to the Office of Strategy and Planning (GEP), in Portugal the numberof registered accidents has been increasing since 2012. Work related accidentscause a lot of damage to the worker, the companies and the state. Therefore,knowing its causes is extremely important. This work was intended to investigate and analyze the work related accidents that occurred in the city Council of Oeiras(CMO). The duration of this study covers a three-year period (2014 to 2016) using formal and structured methodologies - RIAAT method (Work Accident Registration, Investigation and Analysis). The methodology of this study contains the workers’ characterization, the accidents’ characterization and accidents’investigation. For the investigation of accidents, the Division Waste Collection (DWC) located in the Department of Urban Hygiene(DUH) was chosen. The application of the RIAAT method is made up of the reclassification and recoding of 109 accidents and the in-depth investigation of 19 accidents, by the application of semi-structured interviews, to the victims. The results of the study report thetype of accident that occurs most frequently in the study and the factors (human errors, contributory individual factors, place of work factors, and the Organization Management) that effectively contributed to the occurrence of the accident.
