Mestrado em Arquitetura Paisagista - Instituto Superior de Agronomia
This work intends to evaluate the archaeological sites, from the point of view of landscape architecture, providing a new approach to the concepts of archeology and heritage in terms of landscape planning and design principles. In recent years, there has been increasing interest in the archaeological and tourist and landscape value of the same. So archaeologists and other researchers have developed theoretical and practical proposals, however it is curious to note that there are few studies and rehabilitation proposals by Landscape Architects like in other chronological horizons. The sites require more than protection and display of archaeological remains in fact the value of these spaces is strongly related to its integration into the landscape. In order to protect and present the heritage values for current and future generations is of great importance develop a landscape design that can reconcile the different components of the site. Therefore, this work aims to create a "bridge" between Archaeology and Landscape Architecture, to evaluate the interest to use the knowledge of both branches to the enhancement and protection of archaeological sites.
