Comparison of generational effect on proteins and metabolites in non-transgenic...

Galazzi, Rodrigo Moretto, 1988-; Santos, Fábio Neves dos, 1986-; Eberlin, Marcos Nogueira, 1959-; Arruda, Marco Aurelio Zezzi, 1965-

Abstract: This work evaluates different generations of transgenic (cp4-EPSPS gene) and non-transgenic soybean plants through proteomics and metabolomics. For proteomics purpose, 24 differentially abundant protein spots were found through 2-D DIGE, being 4 belonging to transgenic plants. From this total, 19 were successfully identified, storage proteins as predominant class. Some identified proteins are involved...

Using the L/O ratio to determine blend composition in biodiesel by EASI-MS corr...

Alberici, Rosana Maria; Eberlin, Marcos Nogueira, 1959-

Abstract: Easy ambient sonic-spray ionization mass spectrometry (EASI-MS) is applied to the analysis of biodiesel blends prepared from soybean and animal fat biodiesel. A correlation was established between the ratio of abundance of linoleic acid (L) and oleic acid (O) methyl ester ions with the biodiesel blend composition. To compare these results from the EASI-MS technique, the L/O ratio of these blends was a...

Sequential high pressure extractions applied to recover piceatannol and scirpus...

Viganó, Juliane, 1985-; Aguiar, Ana Carolina de, 1986-; Morais, Damila Rodrigues de; Jara, José Luis Paz; Eberlin, Marcos Nogueira, 1959-

Abstract: Passion fruit seeds are currently discarded on the pulp processing but are known for their high piceatannol and scirpusin B contents. Using pressurized liquid extraction (PLE), these highly valuable phenolic compounds were efficiently extracted from defatted passion fruit bagasse (DPFB). PLE was performed using mixtures of ethanol and water (50 to 100% ethanol, w/w) as solvent, temperatures from 50 to...

Alberici, Rosana Maria; Fernandes, Gabriel Deschamps, 1988-; Porcari, Andréia de Melo, 1983-; Eberlin, Marcos Nogueira, 1959-

Abstract: Plant-derived sterols, often referred to as phytosterols, are important constituents of plant membranes where they assist in maintaining phospholipid bilayer stability. Consumption of phytosterols has been suggested to positively affect human health by reducing cholesterol levels in blood via inhibition of its absorption in the small intestine, thus protecting against heart attack and stroke. Sterols ...
