The yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae undergoes a mitochondrial-dependent regulated cell death (RCD) exhibiting typical markers of mammalian apoptosis. We have previously shown that ceramide production contributes to RCD induced by acetic acid and is involved in mitochondrial outer membrane permeabilization and cytochrome c release, especially through hydrolysis of complex sphingolipids catalyzed by Isc1p. Recentl...

Analyzing medical volume datasets requires interactive visualization so that users can extract anatomo-physiological information in real-time. Conventional volume rendering systems rely on 2D input devices, such as mice and keyboards, which are known to hamper 3D analysis as users often struggle to obtain the desired orientation that is only achieved after several attempts. In this paper, we address which 3D an...

In this study, we assessed the impact of two cooking methods, steaming and boiling, through the true retention (%TR) of minerals in pseudocereals and rice (varieties Indica and Japonica). Mineral content was determined by ICP-OES. Cooking methods have an impact on mineral composition of pseudocereals with losses up to 20%. QuinoaŽs %TR varied from 100% (manganese, phosphorus and iron) in steaming, to 83% (coppe...
