Background Updated data on chronic respiratory diseases (CRDs) are vital in their prevention, control, and treatment in the path to achieving the third UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a one-third reduction in premature mortality from non-communicable diseases by 2030. We provided global, regional, and national estimates of the burden of CRDs and their attributable risks from 1990 to 2019. Methods Using...

Made available in DSpace on 2022-04-29T07:13:45Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2014-01-16; We elucidate the close relationship between spontaneous time-reversal symmetry breaking and the physics of excitonic instabilities in strongly correlated multiband systems. The underlying mechanism responsible for the spontaneous breaking of time-reversal symmetry in a many-body system is closely relate...

Made available in DSpace on 2022-04-29T07:26:02Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2015-04-30; Phase transitions involving spontaneous time-reversal symmetry breaking are studied on the honeycomb lattice at finite hole doping with next-nearest-neighbor repulsion. We derive an exact expression for the mean-field equation of state in closed form, valid at temperatures much less than the Fermi energ...

Response to the COVID-19 Epidemic: The Chinese Experience and Implications for ...

Liu, Wei; Xiao-Guang, Yue; Tchounwou, Paul B.

The ongoing outbreak of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) that occurred in China is rapidly spreading globally. China’s bond and strict containment measures have been proved (in practice) to significantly reduce the spread of the epidemic. This was obtained through the use of emergency control measures in the epidemic areas and the integration of resources from multiple systems, including business, commu...

Valuation Impacts of Environmental Protection Taxes and Regulatory Costs in Hea...

Tu, Wen-Jun; Yue, Xiao-Guang; Liu, Wei; Crabbe, M. James C.

In 2016, the issue of the Environmental Protection Tax Law indicated the enhancement of environmental protection in China. This study examines the market reaction to firms in heavy-polluting industries, and the effects of external legal institutional quality and internal environmental disclosure on firm value around the passage of Environmental Protection Tax Law. Using an event study approach coupled with ordi...

How Knowledge Acquisition Diversity Affects Innovation Performance during the T...

Many domestic enterprises in emerging economies are concerned with the question of how to better utilize the portfolio of technology sourcing channels to achieve rapid economic growth by technological innovation. This paper looks at this issue by exploring the impacts of knowledge acquisition diversity (KAD) on innovation performance of domestic enterprises in China and the technological contexts (in terms of t...

Some inequalities for interval-valued functions on time scales

Zhao, Dafang; Ye, Guoju; Liu, Wei; Torres, Delfim F. M.

We introduce the interval Darboux delta integral (shortly, the IDΔ -integral) and the interval Riemann delta integral (shortly, the IR Δ -integral) for interval-valued functions on time scales. Fundamental properties of ID and IR Δ -integrals and examples are given. Finally, we prove Jensen’s, Hölder’s and Minkowski’s inequalities for the IR Δ -integral. Also, some examples are given to illustrate our theorems

A detailed study on the Fe-doped TiO2 thin films induced by pulsed laser deposi...

Fe-doped TiO2 thin films are deposited both on the (1 0 0) oriented Si and glass substrates by pulsed laser deposition technique using Fe powder doped TiO2 ceramic target. The structural and optical properties of the film have been studied in detail. The degree of film crystallinity is investigated by X-ray diffraction and confirmed by Raman scattering measurements. The stoichiometry and chemical states of Fe, ...

Fe-doped TiO2 thin films are deposited both on the (100) oriented Si and glass substrates by pulsed laser deposition technique using Fe powder doped TiO2 ceramic target. The structural and optical properties of the film have been studied in detail. The degree of film crystallinity is investigated by X-ray diffraction and confirmed by Raman scattering measurements. The stoichiometry and chemical states of Fe, Ti...

Existence theorems for a nonlinear second-order distributional differential equ...

Liu, Wei; Ye, Guoju; Zhao, Dafang; Torres, Delfim F. M.

In this work, we are concerned with existence of solutions for a nonlinear second-order distributional differential equation, which contains measure differential equations and stochastic differential equations as special cases. The proof is based on the Leray--Schauder nonlinear alternative and Kurzweil--Henstock--Stieltjes integrals. Meanwhile, examples are worked out to demonstrate that the main results are s...
