Exposure to noise is an important risk to human health. Despite that, its control in the occupational environment is only made considering the prevention of hearing loss. Portuguese law for this subject neglect the non-auditory effects, such as sleep disturbances, annoyance and stress, reduction of cognitive performance and cardiovascular diseases.
Indoor air quality (IAQ) in health care facilities may influence the health and wellbeing of healthcare workers, having a significant impact on their overall quality of life. Therefore, we aimed to assess the IAQ parameters in a major clinical setting, as well as to observe occupational health symptomatology in workers at that healthcare institution.
