Piperine decreases pilocarpine-induced convulsions by GABAergic mechanisms

Pilocarpine (350 mg/kg, i.p.) was administered 30 min after piperine (2.5, 5, 10 and 20 mg/kg, i.p.) which significantly increased latencies to 1st convulsion and to death, and percentage of survivals.
