Background: Sjogren's disease (SjD) systemic affection is being increasingly recognized. The prevalence of peripheral (PNS) and central (CNS) nervous system involvement in SjD and risk factors for these manifestations have not been clearly established. Objectives: To define the clinical characteristics of SjD patients with CNS and/or PNS involvement and to find predictors of this involvement.
Aims: Sjögren's disease (SjD) is a complex disease with a wide variety of manifestations and outcomes. We recently created PORTRESS, the Portuguese SjD registry within Reuma.pt. We aim to describe this registry and characterize our national cohort. Methods: We included patients with a clinical diagnosis of SjD, registered in PORTRESS up to November 2023. Demographic, clinical, treatment, and patient-reported ou...
Idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM) are a heterogeneous group of systemic autoimmune rheumatic disorders in which chronic inflammation of skeletal muscle leads to muscle weakness. Many other organs, including the skin, heart, lungs, and joints, may be affected. Patients with IIM may be positive for myositis antibodies (MAs), including myositis-specific and/or associated antibodies. Although helpful for est...
Objectives Although axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) typically begins before age 45, late-onset axSpA (lo-axSpA) has been widely recognized. While existing literature describes this subgroup, data on therapeutic approaches remain limited. Therefore, we aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of biologic DMARDs in patients with lo-axSpA.Methods We conducted a retrospective, multicentre, national cohort study us...

Background: Regular physical activity is recommended for all patients with axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA), but measuring its frequency, duration and intensity can be challenging. The modified Short Questionnaire to ASsess Health-enhancing physical activity (mSQUASH) is a patient-reported outcome measurement designed to assess daily physical activity in patients with axSpA. This study aimed to translate the mSQ...
