The journal Cadernos de PLE. Estudos Variacionistas e Aplicados em Língua Não Materna is an annual journal and is the continuation of the Cadernos de PLE journal published in print (available at: http://www.varialing.eu/?page_id=665). The editors have decided to relaunch this publication, now in online format, aimed at a wider audience and subject matter. This new edition, also peer-reviewed, aims to encourage research in the area of Portuguese as a non-native language, from a strictly linguistic perspective, combining some perspectives of Linguistic Variation with Applied Linguistics, thus accepting the different theoretical and epistemological approaches of Modern Linguistics.
