The Escola Superior de Saúde Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa - Alto Tâmega (ESSCVP – Alto Tâmega) is a private, non-integrated polytechnic higher education institution, based in Chaves, with the Portuguese Red Cross as its founding entity. Its mission is to develop health education, research, lifelong learning, active citizenship, culture, and community service, aiming for professional excellence, the promotion of health and well-being policies, cultural development, the safeguarding of heritage (tangible and intangible) and the environment, as well as the training of people in compliance with the principles of the Portuguese Red Cross.
