O presente trabalho propõe a análise das Examinações de Anne Askew, atendo-se não apenas à dimensão religiosa da obra, mas também à instrumentalização da narrativa por meio das intervenções editoriais. A pesquisa se debruçou sobre o uso político dado à obra, evidenciado pela remodelação empreendida pelos editores por meio dos elementos paratextuais. Por meio dessas análises buscou-se compreender a construção de Anne Askew como mártir da causa protestante e o papel desempenhado pelos editores e suas intervenções nesse processo.
The present work proposes an analysis of the Examinations of Anne Askew, focusing not only on the religious dimension of the work, but also on the instrumentalization of the narrative through editorial interventions. The research focuses on the political uses of the work, evidenced by the remodeling undertaken by the editors in the paratextual elements. By means of these analyses it was sought to understand the construction of Anne Askew as a martyr of the Protestant cause and the role played by the editors and their interventions in this process.
