In the present study, we dealt with reforms of international drug policy, specifically analyzing the Global Commission on Drug Policy. From the emergence of problematic drug use to present times. The present research seeks to answer the following key questions: What is the problematization of drug use at the international level? How do the State and Civil Society face the problem of drug war on a global level? What are the new global strategies? The general objective of this research is to understand the strategies of solutions proposed by the Global Commission on Drug Policy in dealing with the problem at the international level. The specific objectives are: a) to contextualize the phenomenon of drugs at a global level; B) identify the global strategies of the Global Commission on Drug Policy; C) analyze a global strategy brought by the Global Commission on Drug Policy. Regarding the methodology, the research has two characteristics that complement each other. On the one hand, this is an exploratory research, given my insertion in the field of research. On the other hand, it is a case study of an international non-governmental organization, which has gained great influence in the discussion and implementation of new global strategies of the current international drug system. As far as methodological procedures were concerned, literature and documents on the subject were made available on the Internet, with the following descriptors: drugs, Global Commission, health, International Conventions, UNGASS, harm reduction and human rights. We used the technique of "content analysis" to organize the collected material and to choose the axes of analysis from the literature survey, the documents and the selected reports in order to understand and explain the phenomenon of drug use, and to analyze the global strategies Proposed by the Global Commission on Drug Policy. In view of the above, we conclude that the phenomenon of problematic drug use must be tackled with global strategies that prioritize health, safety and human rights, since prohibitionism has had several consequences and has not been able to solve the problem in question and taking into account these new Global strategies that have scientific proof of their efficacy, we feel the need to discuss.
