Abstract: In this paper we investigate the aspects about the racism in the soap-operas The Prophet and Two Faces using the Discourse Analysis theories as reference. By considering the soap-opera as a social place of language construction, this research is based on a discursive perspective. We use the following categories: the conception of enunciative game according to Bakthin (1997), Benveniste (1989) and Charaudeau (2001); the notion of the topos according to Ducrot (1989, 2002, 1999); the concept of discursive formation according to Foucault (1995) and Pechêux (1997); the theory of social representation according to Moscovici (2002, 2003), Farr (1995), Jodelet (2001) and others. In order to do this research, we have chosen specific scenes of the referred novels, focusing on the black characters the take part in this soap-operas. By selecting scenes of theses soap-operas and linking them to the transcription of the discursive registers, we did a study connecting: the notion of enunciative game in wich the interactive relation between the fictional characters that belongs to the African ethnic and the ones that are white is revealed by several characters that cross this discourse; the external voice of the utterant subject (author/viewer) intervines in that interacional process showing the diversity of the narratives analyzed, and the fictional possibility of the inter-ethnic conflict that occurs between the soap-opera characters; the notion of topos that indicates the discriminatory common sense through the argumentative common place established by the soap-opera characters, as well as the possible solutions to unbuild and/or to mask the racial question in these narrations produced by the medias; the discursive formation as an instrument to invest in the social roles instituted by the black and the white characters of the quoted narratives. In this perspective, the role of an inferior subject assumed by the black in those narratives emerges and are linked to a racist discursive formation. However, we can also see discursive formations that have the intention of unbuild the racial prejudice - as the one that affirms the black ethnic, presented by some characters of the referred soap-operas. The social representation appears as an approach that emphasizes the symbolic dimension revealed by the racial problematic shared by he fictional characters of the soap-operas investigated here. Therefore, we realize that the racialization, evoked by these soap-operas, a priori, tries to break up with the chain of racial prejudice, through the construction of characters that try to get over the existence of racial prejudice. However, these televisions narratives ends up by making the same mistakes that come from the social environment - they abandon what it is important to fight against racism and invest in the conflict between couples, families, schoolmates or things like that, and furthermore, they strength the negative stereotypes related to the black people.
