Resumo: No Brasil, os processos de urbanização e industrialização aconteceram de forma rápida, ocorrendo assim, mudanças nas funções, nas formas e nas estruturas na cidade, visíveis nos papéis de algumas delas, em suas respectivas regiões, ou seja, em suas funções urbanas e logo em suas centralidades. Diante disso, optou-se por escolher o tema de rede urbana e uma região onde o desenvolvimento econômico tem menor expressão e os estudos sobre rede urbana ainda são escassos. Este estudo justifica-se, além da relevância do tema rede urbana e ausência de estudos sobre esse tema, pela peculiaridade da região escolhida e pela posição geográfica estratégica da cidade de Nanuque/MG, foco deste trabalho. Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo principal analisar o papel exercido pela cidade de Nanuque/MG na região de tríplice fronteira, considerando a hierarquia urbana das cidades da região, em 2010. Como objetivos específicos têm-se: associar os conceitos, teoria e reflexões relacionadas à região e a cidade na região; caracterizar a região de tríplice Fronteira, em seus aspectos históricos, geográficos, demográficos e socioeconômicos, nos anos de 2000 e 2010; identificar a hierarquia das cidades da região de estudo, no ano de 2010 e verificar o papel exercido pela cidade de Nanuque/MG na região no ano de 2010. A hipótese da pesquisa é que Nanuque/MG cumpre uma função importante na intercessão das hinterlândias das cidades médias regionais. O método utilizado na pesquisa apresenta-se numa perspectiva hipotético-dedutiva, desenvolvendo-se também uma parte empírica, no sentido de demonstrar qual é o papel da cidade de Nanuque na região, e para esta análise foi essencial considerar alguns conceitos, discussões e Teorias. Foram coletados dados de diversas fontes, com o objetivo de caracterizar a região e analisar a hierarquia urbana e centralidade de Nanuque/MG na região de tríplice fronteira. Para a proposição da hierarquia recorreu-se à estatística multivariada - análise de componentes principais (ACP). Os resultados obtidos demonstram que Nanuque/MG desempenha função importante estando entre os lugares centrais de alta ordem na região. Por dispor de centralidade, sua região complementar extrapola sua microrregião e mesmo os limites estaduais. Palavras chave: Nanuque/MG, Região, rede urbana, hierarquia, centralidade.

Abstract: In Brazil, the processes of urbanization and industrialization took place rapidly, thus changing the functions, forms and structures in the city, visible in the roles of some of them, in their respective regions, that is, in their urban functions and soon in their centralities. Given this, we chose to choose the urban network theme and a region where economic development has less expression and studies on urban network are still scarce. This study is justified, in addition to the relevance of the theme urban network and absence of studies on this theme, due to the peculiarity of the chosen region and the strategic geographic position of the city of Nanuque / MG, focus of this work. This research has as main objective to analyze the role played by the city of Nanuque / MG in the region of triple border, considering the urban hierarchy of the cities of the region in 2010. As a specific objectives are to associate the concepts, theory and reflections related to the region and the city in the region; characterize the region of triple border, in its historical, geographical, demographic and socioeconomic aspects, in the years of 2000 and 2010; to identify the hierarchy of the cities of the study region in the year 2010 and to verify the role played by the city of Nanuque / MG in the region in the year of 2010. The hypothesis of the research is that Nanuque / MG fulfills an important function in the intercession of the hinterlândias of the regional medium cities. The method used in the research is presented in a hypothetical-deductive perspective, and an empirical part is also developed in order to demonstrate the role of the city of Nanuque in the region, and for this analysis it was essential to consider some concepts, discussions and theories. Data were collected from several sources, aiming to characterize the region and to analyze the urban hierarchy and centrality of Nanuque / MG in the triple border region. For the proposition of the hierarchy we used the multivariate statistics - principal component analysis (PCA). The results show that Nanuque / MG plays an important role among the high order central places in the region. Because it has centrality, its complementary region goes beyond its microregion and even the state boundaries. Keywords: Nanuque/MG, region, urban network, hierarchy, centrality.
