After giving a short account of the Algerian agriculture - remarking a socialist (or self-governed) sector, a private sector and a cooperative sector -, the authors analyse with a special attention the structures of the private sector, the main target for the agrarian revolution. Then they describe the ends aimed at by this revolution, underlying its two main aspects: the raise in the agricultural production level and the transformation of social relations. In the two last parts of their article they examine the new structures established by the agrarian revolution and its effects upon the Algerian agriculture, in special as far as the private and the cooperative sectors are concerned.

Depois de apresentarem uma breve resenha da agricultura argelina - distinguindo um sector socialista (ou autogerido), um sector privado e um sector cooperativo -, os autores analisam com particular atenção as estruturas do sector privado, objecto principal da revolução agrária. Seguidamente descrevem as finalidades visadas por esta revolução, destacando os seus dois aspectos principais: a elevação do nível da produção agrícola e a transformação das relações sociais. Nas duas últimas partes do seu artigo examinam as novas estruturas instituídas pela revolução agrária e os seus efeitos sobre a agricultura argelina, especialmente no que se refere aos sectores privado e cooperativo.
